Introduction to Ukrainian Culture & Language: In the Footsteps of Shevchenko

Join us for an evening of Ukrainian poetry! The participants will explore Ukrainian culture through Taras Shevchenko's literary and cultural legacy. During the program, we will read Shevchenko’s poems aloud in Ukrainian, and discuss their themes of freedom, identity, and love for Ukraine. By the end of the lesson, you will be familiar with essential Ukrainian words related to art and music inspired by Shevchenko, and enjoy traditional herbal teas and Ukrainian coffee with cookies or pampukh (Ukrainian doughnuts). All skill levels are welcome. The supplies will be provided.
