Program Description

Body

Rid your yard of mosquitoes the eco-friendly way! Stop in anytime from 10 a.m. until noon for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create an effective mosquito control solution using a simple “mosquito bucket” trap. This method targets mosquito larvae before they become biting adults, helping reduce populations without the need for fogging or harsh chemical sprays. Take the Homegrown National Park Mosquito Bucket Challenge with us!

The cost of the workshop is $5 per person (nonrefundable). Each participant will receive step-by-step instructions and all the supplies needed to build one trap, including a 5-gallon bucket with lid, mosquito dunks, and a selection of “stinky” attractants. We understand you may already have some of these materials at home, but we are unable to reduce or waive the workshop fee.

This program will take place in the Municipal Center gymnasium, accessible through the hallway behind the library or by entering the exterior door in the rear next to the police department.

Open to adults ages 18 and up. Registration is required, and payment is due at the time of registration. Sign up online below or, if you prefer to pay with cash, stop by the library to sign up in person.
