Program Description

Body

Celebrate National Jazz Appreciation Month with a live performance by The Merrymakers Jazz Duo, featuring the talented Rob Bickel. This show honors Pittsburgh giants of jazz and their music. Musicians from Pittsburgh have dominated the jazz world over many years. Some have left Pittsburgh and moved to larger markets, others have remained in Pittsburgh. This show salutes their accomplishments as well as their music.

Rob Bickel is a distinguished pianist and Adjunct Professor of Piano at Duquesne University. With a Masters Degree in Music, Rob’s career spans venues including Heinz Hall, Benedum Center, and Carnegie Music Hall. His resume includes performances with legends such as Mel Tormé, Gladys Knight, and Liberace.

The performance is free and open to all ages. Registration is suggested, but not required.

This concert is made possible thanks to a generous grant from The Recording Industry's Music Performance Trust Fund.
